I bought my 1985 FJ1100 almost 2 weeks ago and unfortunatly the battery is a fairly new one but from it sitting and whatnot and it not being a very good battery that the PO bought it is dead. I was looking at getting a AGM because the one he got is a wet cell and sucks lol. Is there anyone with certain brand experiances or what kind of CCA I should be looking at getting as I looked the battery up the PO bought and its only 190 and that just doesnt sound like much for a 4 cylinder to start up.

If you want the most cca you can get. Buy a lithium battery. Also. Will be 4-8lbs lighter. I have 3 of the shorai.(is that how its spelled?) In various machines. And I haven't had a problem. Even in -10 degree weather. Ice riding with my raptor 700.

Ok, thanks. I was looking at some of the Lithium batteries and they are all upper $100s to $200. I mean I want a good battery thats just out of my budget at the moment. What kind of CCA do you get out of the lithiums just curious though?

Mine is 280 CCA from memory.

I found a AGM battery that puts out 210 CCA and has a 2 year no questions warranty on Amazon for $60. You guys think this a pretty good option?

Sounds good to me, just look up the company and make sure they hold up their end of the deal when it comes time for the exchange--also, if you have to pay shipping, it might not be worth it. :P

I just paid around $110 for a sealed battery from Batteries Plus that came with a 2 year warranty, and if battery failure strands me, they will tow me and replace my battery anywhere in the country, if I understood the salesman right. Locations everywhere.

Just whatever you do, don't buy a battery at autozone. Sheesh.

Not everyone understands what a completely rational process this maintenance of a motorcycle is. They think it's some kind of a knack or some kind of affinity for machines in operation. They are right, but the knack is almost purely a process of reason.
