my vacuum/electric petcock is not working anymore im not getting any fuel flow so how to I covert it to manual on my 86 fj1200

Buy an 84/85 petcock like me, less $$$ and you get the Prime function...

OR, get a 12V electric solenoid valve and put it between an open petcock
(or just an elbow out of the tank)and the carbs.
This closes off when not powered and opens when it gets power.

It'll keep you from forgetting to turn the gas off and you don't have to be able to access the lever.

I saw these a few years back on a forum I belong to for my Honda Valkyrie. I looked into them when I had the petcock woes on my FJ's. However, I found them to be quite large and questioned if I could fit one in the limited space on the FJ's. I have the OEM air boxes on my FJ's, but maybe the valves would fit all right on bikes with pods. I bailed on the idea and went with the pricey OEM replacements.

The one listed by Arnie has 3/8 NPT ports, which combined with the required barb end fittings for attaching the fuel lines may make the shutoff assembly's size rather large.

In the link below are 12V shutoff valves, and their graphics show their space claims (without hose fittings), so you can get a good idea of their sizes.

I have seen previous posts where some people have used a vacuum-operated Pingel shutoff valve that is compact, but I think they cost a decent amount too. Do a search and you'll find them.
