Rode it hard and then put my Q2s on...

I've noticed warmer weather giving me a different power output through the rev range...  A little flat around 3,500-4,500 then more power at partial throttle over WOT at higher speeds.  I think I'm a bit lean maybe, but will talk to the dyno guys for their advice.  No big deal as the darn thing is so fast anyway.

I really rode her today through...  hard into corners, late brake with occasional skipping on the rear, apex and hard on throttle, repeat.  What a blast!

Then I got home and put the new Q2s on, this time with a 170/60-17 rear.  Literally a RCH between tire and chain, but it does't touch the tire.  Now I just need to scrub them in good and I'm rally ready!  I'll go out tomorrow and get started.

Can't wait...  we've got 4 weeks now, right?

Frank, I could not reach the edges of my Q2s in 180 or 170, they warm up quick stick way better than I will likely ever need... Your gonna love them...

I too, will be putting on a 170/60/17 Q2 here shortly, for the WCR.
One question, what do you mean when you say, " Literally a RCH between tire and chain, but it doesn't touch the tire."?

Yep...  the set I had on pre-dyno (and Renegade Rally) were Q2s and they wore completely evenly.  Kind of amazing for a soft tire on a heavy bike, but the front was fine (probably 2,000 miles left) and the rear was just thin in the center after 2 weeks on the dyno.  I got 3,500 miles from the rear as it was and thing I'd have made 4,500 miles without the dyno torture in the mix.  

The Roadsmarts I ran today have never given me any concern (and they were great in Hayfork in the rain), but they wear funny and really triangle in the front for some reason.  I think tires work for people and bikes together in a complex way...  hard equation to figure and the subject makes for a livid debate.  For my riding and my bike, I'm happy to have the Q2s on again!

Nothing funny about that, they all triangulate as they wear ( if you lean it over around corners )
I found all the dual compound tyres I tried did that to some extent which is why I like the Conti's.

Not true in my experience...  the Q2s wore very evenly front and rear, just quickly.  The Roadsmarts have triangulated badly on two sets, so I think I'm done with them.
