I hadn't seen these exact bags mounted on an FJ so here's a picture or two if anyone is interested.

Two up set up with the Day Long seat.

Man, those cases look big.
Good, but big. :-)
Who makes that "all day" seat?

+1 Mark, very nice. Like the rear foot rests also!

Yeah 42 liter. I agree, they are large.  Nice when you need it right? In my perfect world someone would make an expandable hard bag.
They'll be great for overnight touring trips,  the few that we have time for.  Most of the time they'll be used for more utilitarian purposes, like to pick up groceries on the way home from work.

This is a link to the seat manufacturer.

If you ever consider getting one, feel free to contact me.  I could tell you a few things about it, positive and negative.

I'm surprised at how large they look on the bike as compaired to the Junior 40L cases i have but i still like them.

how about a picture from the rear of the bike?

Web site says this for the Journey:

External Dimensions for side cases are approximately:

42 Liter – 11.4" height x 19.7" width x 11.8" depth

and this for the Junior 40's

External Dimensions for side cases are approximately:

30 Liter – 11.4" height x 19.3" width x 8.7" depth

40 Liter – 11.4" height x 19.3" width x 11.8" depth

When I measure the out side of the bags I get about  16" height x  21" width x 11" depth.

Here's the rear...

And from not so close...

Not everyone understands what a completely rational process this maintenance of a motorcycle is. They think it's some kind of a knack or some kind of affinity for machines in operation. They are right, but the knack is almost purely a process of reason.

....I reckon you could scrape those.

Looks a bit wider than my 40 litre bags for sure. Just remember they are back there. I lightly scraped mine on a brick wall once when I forgot they were on the bike..

Hell, that's easy to do.

I scraped one of my E21s on a barricade once while parking at work.

Yep, easy to misjudge.  I smacked one of my e21s while cutting between concrete jersey barriers and put two big 6-8" cracks in it.  Fixed it with safety wire "stitches".. and rtv.

Those are some big saddlebags. Throw in a 52L topbox and you are all set for a month long ride.
