Hey - Well I got new tires installed and changed out my fork oil today ( I won't get into what types.....). I also started to look into why my turn signals blink fast. they all blink, no lights are out. The rear blinkers are not stock. The fronts are on as running lights but the rears are not on as running lights, I suspect this is the issue. Does the flasher unit sense if they are not on as running lights? The bulbs in the rear are fine. I checked with the meter and it is not getting power for the running light function. I am thinking that the wiring is bad somewhere or the flasher unit is bad. This is as far as I got..... thoughts?

Nope. I thought that might be it but they are all standard bulbs.

Maybe the globes/bulbs are a low wattage compared to what they should be

Do you say the fronts are on as running lights just because they stay on or because you know they are wired to do that?

If it is the former I would punt on the flasher can being suspect.

The rear indicators are just turn signals, not running lights.  They take single filament 1156 bulbs.  The front are running lights as well as turn signals.  They take double filament 1157 bulbs.

Ok that is helpful. The previous owner installed aftermarket rear signals that do function as running lights and signals. He wired the running light wire and signal wire  together into the bikes signal wire. But when the signal goes only the signal filament in the build is blinking. I will have to do some more investigating on the bike this week.

Where is the flasher unit located? Can I install a generic flasher? something from pepboys? thanks

The flasher unit is mounted in the left side of the fairing ,roughly above the cooling duct , and Incorparates the start relay and others.  :scratch_one-s_head:  can't miss it only one there

Well i figured out the turn signal issue. The previous owner installed aftermarket rear signals that did not take an 1156 bulb so the flasher was blinking fast. I wired an 1156 socket in to the fixture, installed 1156 bulbs and the signals work correctly now, no more fast blinking.
