Hooked up with Steve (moparman), Mark (FJMonkey), Mike from San Dimus, Frank, the new guy from Long Beach with the super cool FJ110, and myself. Great ride but as always, way too short.

On top of Palomar, we came upon yet another FJ. Met the owner and advised him of our site. His name is Rich and he rode down the East Grade with us over to the Hideout.

What are the chances of coming upon 6 FJ's in one place?

Thanks for the great ride!!!  :good2:

"Hay, wade a minnit...!"

I thought that the "established" protocol was to line up the bikes by year-of-manufacture for any group FJ photogs.

What's up with this non-standard lineup crap! The former military bearing in many of us is *FREAKING OUT* right about now!

...`jes kiddin'. That is pretty kewl to spontaneously come across others of the species. Ride on!

It wouldn't have take much to correct -- just move the 84 to the end ---maybe slide mine up a bit to compensate.

It was a great ride and I thank all that came along --it was a blast ....literally...

PS FranK --- ride coverage -- freeways to Highland Valley Rd - to Ramona -- 78 -79 North to MESA GRANDE Rd -- 76 West to South Fork - UP to Palomar - Down East Grade -- back along 76  through Pala -- Rice Canyon North -- to Temecula -- Rancho California rd - Deluz Canyon --- to Fallbrook -- to Olive Hill -- to Sleeping Indian Rd -- to Mother Earth Brewery.

Great coverage of the ride guys, I had a blast, really looking forward to more pre-rally rides...
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side

Sorry, can't help you with you're OCD. . When we rolled in, this was the order of the bikes that got here. The pink strip was here when I rolled in, the rest lined up as they came.

Sorry, but I do have an unfair advantage as I have been going up and down the South Grade since my early 20's. Now I am old and grey, but it's still a blast.

Hate to break it to you Craig ---- but your bike is old and grey as well ... and there is nothing wrong with that.

craigo

Yep. pretty soon, we'll be on the porch together in rocking chairs, our FJs sitting in the driveway, talking about the good old days. And there's nothing wrong with that either.  :good2:

In fact, I think the bike is aging better than I am.. :pardon: Parts are sure easier to come by.

Steve, you have a great sense of humor. I was thinking that I was going to be an ambulance chaser the whole day out.

Thanks, Craig.

I just read the synopsis for Matt Stone and Trey Parker's (South Park creators) play "The Book of Mormon" a few minutes ago, for the first time.
