92 rear wheel

Is the gsxr rear wheel mod the same as all the other years? And if I am correct referring
To kit kat blacks post there is certain years of the gsxr rear wheel that will bolt right up and work with just new spacers? Or do they all need the corresponding calipers and brake stay? Sory did  search but
Couldn't find anything about the 92's in the search. Not a big
Fan of the search function on this forum gives me a lot of non related posts

hi  .most will bolt up using just spàcers, but you do need the caliper ànd brake àrm from à 92 or earlier model

I used the Kit Kat Black thread to do my rear wheel mod.

My input is...Use the mod exactly as written. The research has been vetted and ALL the GSXR model years that are listed will follow the same directions. I would recommend that if you use a 92' wheel, try and get 92' brake components, sprocket hub etc. If you use a 95' wheel, use 95' brake components and other supporting parts.

ok , I don't have the wheel yet. I was just thinking about getting new tires and whether or not I should do the mod or not.im thinking that I will just stay stock at this point. but in the near future it is very likely I will do it

That's OK. The write up by Kit Kat is good. My advice is when you get ready to buy a wheel then post what you are looking at and we can help you with more specific advice. Or feel free to PM me about your wheel before you buy it.  That's if it's a GSXR wheel. I pieced mine together but you have to know what you are looking for and what to ask. I am quiet happy with mine. There are over 25 posts just on this conversion to read. Believe me, I read them all, a few many times....

My opinion is to allow about 500.00 to do this conversion that includes a new tire. I know you can do it for less but (there's that word again) if you have to piece it together there is an added cost, are you going to replace any bearings in your relay arm or swing arm, new bearings in the wheel (3 of them), seals, might need to buy a spacer, you will have to buy a GSXR 750 rear sprocket, when you do that are you going to get a new chain, paint or powder coat the wheel, do you need a new rotor, brake stay, what are you going to do about your rear ride height,  ETC..... If you have 500 bucks and in the end you have any money left over then great ! Go out to dinner... In a perfect world you might come in at around 300.00 including a tire. Its an easy conversion but asking some questions can save you time and money.

and the money part is why I am going to wait. I kind of like the look of the 16 in the back anyways....what im really worried about right now is my front rim. have a katana 86-89 wheel to replace the bent one I have on there now. not sure if it will work....looks the same.( I made a post about it already)

Also for the front wheel you might post in the Parts Wanted Section. One of the members might have one around. Quiet a few have taken there off and converted to 17 " 3.5 wide rims.
