Just bought me a -86 1200 with H&B rack and 3 cases. Feels quite solid.
Anybody have experience with this?'I have used similar a Givi set on my 1100, and that felt solid as rock.

Welcome Hasse, no experience with bags or luggage but many here have them and will post a comment. Cheers.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

I don't know about the H&B stuff, but I can agree about the Givi system. I find it real handy to carry anything I need on the bike and the wife loves it as a back rest and her personal carry case. Someone thought the rack without the cases on was for a wheelie bar.  :wacko3:

Welcome to the club, Hasse.

I see that you are from Narvik... heck, we're getting invaded by Norwegians...!

I just bought a Hepco Becker rack and two sidebags and really like the look of them, even though I haven't mounted everything yet.

Cheers from Sweden!

Welcome to the group Hasse, I have a Hepco & Becker rack and bags. I use a universal top box. They have worked great for me. The biggest issue with me was, I initially looked for a GIVI rack and could not locate the FJ1200 mounting kit. A member on this forum had the Hepco & Becker set for sale and I went with that.

Thanks a lot guys, it`s good to hear your opinions.
I will test the H&B kit when the snow clears, early to mid may I guess.. :dash1: Really envy those of you with more than 6 months of motorcyckle season...
Have a feeling that the Givi rack will find its way to the 1200 in the end, but who knows...

Update from northern Norway.
Used the H&B set this summer on a little trip with the wife on her -03 GSX600F and my -87 FJ1200. Had the poles for the tent and 4 rolled up mats on the rack on top of the top-box, and both side boxes full of stuff.. Worked quite ok, the Norwegian speed limits and the fact that the daughters were passengers kept the speed at max 110 km/h, about 65 miles/h.
The top box I bought last winter due to the old one falling off the bike (!) needed a piece of wood to get a snug fit at the front end, but then stayed in place without any problems. Did not experience any vibrations, and they stayed dry in the 2 hours of rain we had.

So I guess th H&B rack will stay on the bike! It looks so much better when I ride without the boxes compared to the more "massive" Givi rack.

And later this summer, when alone on the bike, I found my kookaloo!! ;-)
