Here are a couple possibles.

        http://www.whitebirchescampingpark.com/default.asp?file=Home

These are on the Gorham NH side of Rt 2. About 30 minutes west of the Bethel, Me campground. We probably rode right by these on one of the loops in the past.

Just curious, is there a Northeast Rally coming up at the end of July 2013?    My 86 FJ is running so well, I'd love to try and make it up to meet and ride with fellow FJ'ers.

I think there will be one.......for some reason though...the site has yet to be determined.....the problem isn't interest.......last year was my first rally and was awesome !!! :good: the place where we stayed had been held there more than once.....to my understanding......however....last year we had such a good time that some of the other campers complained and the campsite owners came over and chided us like a bunch of kids.......in our defense.....we were at the very back of the site and the noise was more from laughter and conversation than anything else...and we all turned in around midnight...so........I would say that finding another location has been the only reason for the apparent lack of interest......hang in there.......I am pretty sure it will happen.....  I'm planning to check out the campgrounds next week , and some roads in the general area. The FJ is still sitting on bald tires from a busy summer last year , that's Sundays project. I've been riding , and working on the big KTM and my DR-Z400 so far this year.
I plan on staying/riding some where in northern NH on the weekend of July 27/28 and I would love some company....................... :drinks:

Travis398

This is what we had.............
A campground centered in some of the best riding in the north east.

$10 a night which included firewood, Dinner and coffee in the morning.  And a place where we can party all night.

But still, I spent much of last years rally hearing how......."We shouldn't have the rally here"....................."The rally would be so much better if it were _____" fill in the blank.

Kind of sounds like I'm the one doing everything wrong, Believe me I would way rather be the guy that just shows up to the big show...
Letting those with more resources, finances, and connections set everything up for me.

There was a misunderstanding last year......Yes! But there was complaints the previous years too.

as I recall 3 (4 last year) guys (leaving names out to protect the guilty)  are going to party all night long after 2 am last year.
These 4 guys didn't happen to be the quietest of the rally group, and drinking all night didn't seem to help them use their inside voice.

Despite the yelling, swearing and Singing the campground still said we was welcome back.

The misunderstanding was when the owners wife came to tell us of the complaints from Friday night.
Then we started a FJ with the pipe pointed right at her and started revving it up and up and up while she was trying to talk to us.

If I was the owner and my wife came back and told me that, I would be pretty pissed at you FJ punks..............Would anyone else here feel so differently about their wife in this situation?

Despite that I talked to the owner and apologized, kissed ass, (with a bit of help from the Canadians) and shit was still cool.

So it seems to me if a place is better than what we had, I'm in........But make sure the campground knows about them 4 guys that are going swear, yell, and tell dirty jokes as loud as they can, each trying to out talk or yell over the next.  Either the campground has to give us permission for such activities or them 4 guys shouldn't be invited to the rally.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

I can only speak for myself, but none of my comments were aimed at blaming you Travis. I think you went way over and above to put out all the brush fires sparked by your fellow FJ riders. I only want to help make this fun, safe, and relaxing. I thought it might be nice to have some one different  yelling at us in the morning. We will never know if there is something better if we never try something different.

With the exception of the Grand Slam campground in NY last summer , every camp and ride this year has resulted in someone coming by at night and reminding us that it's late and try and keep it down. But no one has made it personal like the owner came across last year. Sorry, that's just how I feel.

Maybe I'm getting a bit long in the tooth, but I would not be able to stay up until 2am and enjoy a spirited ride the next day.  Which, aside from meeting good people, is the point of an FJ rally... is it not? I missed last year, but the two previous rallies were awesome. Zero complaints from me.  You and Bob were great hosts.

Cool.  Nice to know that my fellow countrymen were the good guys.

My FJ is running great right now, so if work and family cooperate, I'd love to ride out to Maine again this year.

Hey "Book'm Dano".....you did miss a great time......and this year will happen :good2:....and I will be going :good:......this time I will trailer CanD (I HATE SLABBING !!! :bad:)....so if you want to still make it....I'm sure we can figure something out to minimize your expense :empathy3:........see if you can talk Paul into coming :flag_of_truce:.......we really did have an awesome time last year. :yahoo:
Trav and Bob did a great job :drinks:.....it was their commitment .....their generosity.....and the on site pit stop they provided which made the event so good......all the food and provisions were made available and like Trav said......everyone else just had to show up and throw in a few bucks. I don't think that Travis and Bob got enough credit for all their hard work and dedication......and I am shocked that anyone (FJ'rs) complained at all. I think the best solution (for this year) would be to have it at the same spot........now wait a sec........and at the last bon fire of the rally....everyone bring a suggestion as to an alternative location and everyone vote on it and whatever the group agrees to.....that's final !!As for this year.....make sure that we show up with a few basic ground rules :mail1:........no swearing after 6........no dirty jokes after 8......no rails after 10.......no music after 11.....no peace pipes after 11:30.....no more drinking after 11:45.........and all naked females have to leave by the pumpkin hour........(that's midnight for those who don't know Sinderella... :blum1:) and lights out and mouths shut by 12:30..... this, I believe is doable.......... I think it's the right choice for this late.......hopefully its not too late.......I still want my 5 star accommodations at the "Winnebago Windjammer" .....and the 4 nights for 3 deal we took last year.........I am playfully blaming Paul for that one.....  :blum1:.

:yahoo:        FJ owners campout & group ride July 27, 28 2013         :yahoo:

Timberland Campground,  809 route 2, Shelburne NH      http://www.timberlandcampgroundnh.com/

I talked with the campground and they still have some tent sites available for the weekend. Their trailers are all rented , but there are rooms available right down the street in Gorham, NH. It's 14 miles west of our original campground (pleasant river). I have some routes laid out, as well as Travis's routes from the past years. If there is enough interest I have a route to the coast for some seafood (Lobsta) that won't be totally boring. This is certainly last minute, but that will just add to the adventure of it all. We can put at least two tents on a site, considering we will be on bikes. The cost ($23/night) can be split by two people or add a third ($5) and divide by three. We can do a late departure (before 5 pm) for 1/2 the daily rate for Sunday. There is food in Gorham for breakfast/dinner and we will have lunch out on the route. I would like to reserve a couple sites in the next couple days, so if you are interested at all please post/PM me as soon as you can. We should be able to get a few sites together, and they will give us a little price break for eight or more people. Even if you decide at the very last minute to come there should still be tent sites available, or we will squeeze you onto one of ours. I'm thinking of leaving the campground at 10am on Saturday for the ride, so if you want to just ride for the day you are welcome come along. Sunday will likely be earlier, because I'm sure people will want to hit the road home in the afternoon. I'll be at the campground around 6pm Friday the 26. If you want to be there before that I will make sure you get sent to the right sites.

For us Canadians who want to be there, we are quite happy to show up no matter where it is......the decisions would appear to be between you (Glen) and B(oo)b and Trav(el)..... :mocking:.......so whatever you Three Amigos agree to will work for us eh  :good:..... my suggestion would be....if you decide to have it at Justin Timber lake......make sure there will be space enough for those who will be trailering there.........I would also suggest to check out Monday rather than Sunday.......as I will want to be there for the whole day Sunday rather then having to leave early Sunday morning to get back to Toronto.......
There's my 2 cents worth...

PS.........I do hope Trav will bring his new ride........it would be a shame to bring my skis and straw hat for nothing...... :sorry:

Travs new ride.......

Give them a call or email them. I'm guessing they can find a place to park it without paying extra. If you want me to ask them when I make the reservation, just give me the details of your truck/trailer. I didn't know if you wanted to tent or stay somewhere with a real bed. There is no problem staying Sunday night, someone just needs to tell the campground this time.. :diablo:

When it comes to this rally :flag_of_truce:. The few I have talked with would like to have it, BUT this that or other.

There are some that can't go that weekend. This is a great but small community of riders, with lots going on, hate to leave anyone out.

Here's "my" dilemma

I have now committed myself to my RC customers the last weekend of July because of no yay or nay on rally. I know of one other that will be at the track, not the rally that weekend. I'm all done by 12ish both days, then I can ride. (We never got started much earlier) :bad:

So my suggestion for where the rally happens is very one minded. But it be the only way for me to go that weekend, or I try to catch up.
