Some people's idea of free speech is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone says anything back that is an outrage.

The 87' year flipped the colors from the 86' pattern. You still might be on drugs, just saying.....

The 85' 1100 and 86' 1200 are the more common of the Red and White paint schemes. They have the same paint scheme. I am going to guess that you have a 1987, Red on top and White in the middle.

As much as I love the Red and White, Pat's Silver with splashes of Red is my favorite color scheme. Maybe when I get around to a ground up rebuild I will convert to my 86' to Red and Silver..... but I will also need to polish the hell out of it, would that make my FJ holy?

I guess we don't call him Father Pat for nothing....

Here is the colour scheme I eventually decided on for FJ#2 (in the foreground) hanging on the garage wall.

It's Pat's bike.

I agree with FJmonkey. The Red and Silver paint scheme would have looked great as a factory paint scheme on the 1200.

Question..
My 86 also have the awesome red and white power color, for now... (lacking the power ranger power of awesome :-)
Since I'm getting it resprayed I been thinking of going blue, dark blue like the one you find on R6 and R1.. Cobolt blue i think its called..

Recently i feel that it might not be wright.. somehow the bike kinda wants to be red and white.

Would blue look good or awesome? It needs to bee aw some no matter which color i choose
Whant to check out my photos on the bike??

Recently I feel that it might not be right.. somehow the bike kinda wants to be red and white.

Would blue look good, or awesome? It needs to be awesome no matter which color I choose.

Answer:
Well... It all depends on *YOU*. Some are partial to Red/White. Others like White/Red. (Some even DEMAND a Pink stripe!) Personally, I *LOVE* the later model Wet Pale Brown/Blue (but can't get it here in the States!)

If you're going to go so far as to paint the bike, then do it to make *YOU* happy.

If you have access to Adobe Photoshop, or a Photoshop-campatible program, I just uploaded a ZIP file of a Layer-mask photo of a late model FJ-1200 in the FILES section. Download and unzip the file, open it in Photoshop, and adjust the colors to your hearts' content. That way you can get some idea of what a final paint job would look like without spending money on paint!

Cheap & easy! You might even decide that you like the original Red/White the best.  :i_am_so_happy:

In the end, it's subjective, so it's totally UP TO YOU!!!

Cheers!

Steve
