Hi,
Just wondering what the difference is between the models N, L, and RL.

Thanks

FJmonkey

Welcome amrocket..... Where are you located?
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

I have 2 FJ1100's one is 4/85 with full fairing kit and 4-2 exhaust, other is 5/84 and naked except small fairing around headlight and dash and 4-1 exhaust. So i am wondering are they differnt models or has one been butchered. The 4-1 exhaust is after market for sure. The 4-2 is staintune.

post up some pics mate, soon be able to work out whats been changed from standard,, when you say full fairing,  is it one that covers the engine, if it is,  then thats aftermarket
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

84 Fj1100  effie , with mods
( 88 ) Fj 1200  fairly standard , + blue spots
84 Fj1100 absolutely stock standard, now more stock , fitted with Fj12 twin system , no rusted headers for this felicity jayne

Have to wait till I get home to post pics, it's either stupid Ipad or stupid me and I would prefer to blame the Ipad. Will post when I can this evening.

The 4/85 has the same fairing and colour scheme as the one in your Pic FJmonkey, the 5/84 reveals the frame, maybe N is for Naked and bike is Gold with Dark brown almost black tank.

Cheers

To answer your question. Your FJ1100L is the 1984, and your FJ1100N is the 1985. I am not sure what, if any other color patterns were used in Australia for the 1100's. In the United States, the 1984 was Red and Silver. The 1985 was Red and White. Attached is what the showroom stock bikes looked like.

The N & L are letter codes used to designate the year of the bike..... My '90 is an A. Don't recall all the letters and what year they designate, but it can be found via google, I'm sure.
