Rolled into my driveway at 3:00 this morning, a couple hours before the storm hit. Snowmageddon, Snowpocalypse, whatever they want to call it this time. Here's my place after about an hour of snowblowing and shovelling:

It got me to thinking that the FJ may be up for a winter modification something like this:

How hard can it be? Only $59.95 for the kit and $16.80 for tires!

It was 20C and sunny in Alabama on Wednesday - sigh...

Ben, that's exactly what it looks like over here too:-)
I don't mind the snow, but shovelling is a bitch sometimes.. Its when you start on your third or fourth round of shovelling you could use some red power ranger power...  :good2:

Cheers

I shovel snow once a year when I visit my kids in North Illinois. Not much to shovel during the Christmas break of 2012 so I missed the heavy work. Good luck to you all under the feet of snow and the pile the snow plows left in the front of the drive....

:hi: I'm a few miles North East of Zwartie...and I think we got the winter snows all in 24 hours!!!

Alarm went off at the usual 4.30 a.m. Friday morning...let the dogs out in to the back yard to be greeted to about 6" of freshly laid snow!!! Looked out the front, no sign of a snow plough  O.K. back to bed guys... :good: ...and it was still snowing :shout:

Got up around 7 a.m. with a bit more snow added, breakfast, shower and out we go...to find the snow plough had left a 4' high by 4' deep dump of snow across the entire 18' width of my drive way :diablo: :dash1: :dash2: ...and it was still snowing :shout:

It took me a good couple of hours to clear the driveway (and help my neighbour clear his), the path up the side of my house and the back patio area ... and it was still snowing :shout:

I went in to the village to get some more gas for the snow blower and fill my Chev up...and the one and only gas station was closed!!! as was the bakery, bank and several other stores :ireful: I had to drive a couple of miles on shitty roads to get some gas...and it was still snowing :shout:

So the wife and I enjoyed a Friday off... :good2:

Saturday morning around 6.30 a.m....let the dogs out in to the back yard to be greeted to about 6" of snow!!! Looked out the front, again, no sign of a snow plough  O.K. back to bed guys... :good: ...and it was still snowing :shout:

Got up around 7.30 a.m. with a bit more snow added, breakfast, shower and out we go...to find the snow plough had, once again, left a 2' high by 3' deep dump of snow across the entire 18' width of my drive way :diablo: :dash1: :dash2:

It took me a good another couple of hours to clear the driveway (and help my neighbour clear his), the path up the side of my house and the back patio area...thank God I own a decent snow blower!!! ... but it had stopped snowing  :yahoo:

At least the snow mobile guys are able to finally have some fun :rofl2:

They called it snow because all other four letter words were taken. Started snowing here Saturday morning and has not stopped yet. About ten inches so far not that much but still sucks.

you could spend about 20 grand and install a hydronics system under your driveway and never shovel snow again. hot water flows through plastic polybutylene pipes and keeps snow from building up or turning to ice.

unfortunately , you would have to shovel the pile left by the snow plow or just wait for it to melt.

Well, for your amusement....... Here's an RG500 with the optional "snow kit".

I'm sure one of you guys in snow country could whip one up for your FJ over the weekend :-)

Yamaha already had a VMax motorcycle and a VMax snowmoblie.
From what I remember, that sled was pretty quick!

Got an old Triumph hanging around? They are ideal, you will never get lost, just follow the oil back home. (not recommended for night time use, Lucas electrics...)

my dad rides a "ural" its a russain motorcycle with a side car that has a locking diff. he rides it all year long and goes on camping trips and mudding

infact he just came back from a trip this past weekend 18 plus inches of snow he has a canvis tent (french indain war replica) with a wood stove in it
they ride through snow and does better than 4wd trucks
its kinda fun but only does about 65mph  :dash2:
When in doubt throttle out
