BTW - IMHO retreads should be illegal.  Frank

And these stupid things. I used this for the first time this week, on the front of a front wheel drive car. I'm sure it would have handled better if I'd duct taped the FJ wheel to it.

Personally, I would have swapped your rear wheel with the flat one on the front and used the doughnut tire on the rear.

...and *STILL* only driven at 10 mph!   :shok:

The Police would not allow you to continue driving if pulled over with a bald tyre, you would not get a Roadworthy Certificate if the tread patterns were mismatched but you can legally drive around on one of these things. It is not only skinny but a much smaller diameter and has the grip of wheel barrow tyre and they are called "space saver spares". They are seriously dangerous, especially in the wet.
A standard option on most new cars, at an extra cost, is a normal spare.

Dave, I thought if I discreetly snuck them into the corner of the photo, living outside in the weather, your love of all things Victa might prompt you to rescue them from a life of neglect and offer them a better home, away from the cruelty of the elements.

Come on Dave, make me an offer!

well the spare is an emergency tire just to get you to the tire shop . never intended for sustained use.

it is a 50/50 tire , you can only go 50 mph for 50 miles.

the auto thieves like to use them to put on your car after they strip it and leave it abandoned .

like they did on a z28 I used to have.
