I believe this to be where to continue thread. OK i don't have a center stand but will get a paddock stand today. plugs are ngk gaped correct. she is fine with clutch in and in gear no surging, the clutch feels good.i have twin pod on from randy so the carb removal is a breeze and i know that they are probably going to come off again,if i had the factory airbox installed then for sure they would need to come off as of now not sure yet. i will check the spark to ground and check out what the plugs say color wise, the side stand/clutch switch,i will look into it today. i will get back later today with progress . one a side note the Petaluma rally looks great and i will get my ass in gear as to the tent site/reservation  issue. thanks to quick input, not really sure as to proper protocol about the forum thing as this is my first but no worries here i like this place already. i will post some pics later. Gilbert, there is no need to start a new topic for this thread. It makes it easy to follow for us when we can just go to the replies button.

so.... as a carry over from the other thread .

can you ride the fj anywhere? or does it stall as soon as you try to ride it?

meaning , does it just run like crap or not at all.

touch your down pipes and make sure they all have the same heat .

Mark , I did ride her before the carbs were cleaned she sputtered as the clutch was released and then would take off like a jet . now after she is warmed up you can blip throttle and things look good until you ask for power under load .all the pipes are hot ,she runs and starts great  i  have been putzin around the house but in the next few min am going out to do see if she will run in gear on a paddock stand will get back later.Gilbert

Update on my gal,1986 fj1200.she does run in gear when on a paddock stand. I pulled the carbs to make sure the pilot system was clean, i made sure the 3 little holes in the intake were open with carb cleaner, i found that my neutral wire was shorting  but am having a bear of a time removing the cover that the switch is behind, will it slip past the nipple on the slave cylinder? also my sidestand switch was a poor connection so i unplug-ed it and jumped the connection at the plug by battery. one thing i noticed when the air/fuel mixture jet when all are set to 2.5 turns out you can just feel the tip of needle in the intake on 3 of them but one stacks out twice as far as the rest.I ran and additional ground from the the neg battery to a clean point on the frame since i cannot get the main ground by the engine off to clean connection.my fuel line routing looks good and i even put the stock airbox on with k&n filter( what a bear to get that thing on )still want to die as the clutch is released. OK i think i found the bugger my carbs have emulsion tube that do not have a  shroud/tower(?) on them and i have curved slides in the needle jets not the flat ones and i don't know if the needles are the right length(short for flat or long for curved) so i think i need to call randy. the other night i was pissed and must have cursed her because not more then 5 min later i leaned in by the engine (it was dark,10pm) and just touched the cooling fins with my forehead, well my friends the next day asked who scratched my face,i have 4 parallel line on my forehead maybe 1.5"long well i did what must be done and apologized to her and, well lets let time heal both are wounds.
