SoCal ride and a new FJ1100 owner

The wife gave me a choice to help put away Christmas decorations or get the FJ out for a ride. So naturally the decorations are all put away.....

Not really, I rode it like I stole it today. 140 miles of Angels Crest, Angeles Forest, and Bouquet Cyn. On my last stop I was quite surprised to see an FJ1100 parked with the bikes. The new owner has had it for 2 months and have heard about us. The other two were riding an FJR and a clean looking classic VFR. The VFR owner happens to have an 87' and a 91' FJ. The FJR owner was also a previous FJ owner. So we had some talking to do while we drank a brew or two... They might join in, seem interested in some SoCal rides while the weather was nice and roads mostly ice free....

I took a pic up at Newcomb's Ranch with some snow in the distance. Getting there had some butt clinching moments with ice and crap still on the road. It was cold, but riding needed to get done.

Anyone else up for some SoCal rides while the weather is nice and the roads are clear and fast???

Nice pics Mark -- are those the Supertrapps  -- they look like they polished up nice but can't tell for sure.

The Supertrapps are on, I used the jitterbug sander with 120 grit and some black hi-temp for the connector pipes. Not polished but looking much better. They sound great! I am sure the jetting has ended my 50 MPG days...

And you can bet that I was not going fast or using my rear brake much.... The parts that were not iced over had stones (salt is bad for the trees),  they put down for vehicle traction. But only some of the sections. It was still good to get out and ride.

Don't worry about the 50mpg  -- you still had to stop when we stopped anyways.   I was amazed though and the difference.
