Anti Dive block off plates

Any one know where I can purchase the anti dive block off plates. Demon Speed do not have them listed anymore for the 86 FJ 1200.

You don't need them to bypass the AD system. Just remove the top portion of the AD units along with the extra hoses.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Mine are also leaking past the seal and up just up past the C clip through the small hole. I cant find a seal kit available to rebuild them so I just thought I may as well block them off.

Or you could upgrade to 89+ forks and get a 17" wheel to boot. Maybe I will take a look at my old AD units to see how easy the plates are to make.

I have most of the seals but the only one I cant find is the one from the top section that is more of a cap seal.
I also found the Demon Speed web site manufacturer. They are located in Niagara Falls Canada. (Dyna Myte Manufacturing) $79.95  a set and $4.95 shipping in Canada or the USA. Not available until after the holidays.

At that price you're well on your way to getting a set of 3CV forks and 17" front wheel. You should take the Monkey's advise and save you're pennies for a set. You will be sooo much happier with that set up than what you're working with now.

i need a set of block off plates too. is there any way they can be made without the resivoir between the two holes in the fork?
i was thinking i could make a plate then cut away a small section of the forks between the two holes and then blank off so oil can still flow?
or is it worth just capping them off completely? obviously my forks will never end up on an fj again lol.
also... how much oil should be in these forks? i can't find a sensible answer anywhere...

I had the same dilemma too.
I rather went crazy with modding instead (it's dangerous to listen to this forum! )  :wacko3: , so 89+ forks and 17" wheel is the way to go.

You can block the holes off with out having an oil passage in the plate, but you will need to open the forks and drill some holes to prevent the forks from hydro-locking. Maybe next time you need to change the seals. I bit the bullet and upgraded to 89' forks, FZR1000 wheel, Blue dots, and RPM valves. The front end now feels 20 years younger and very planted in the twisties.

The amount of fork oil required will depend on who you listen too. Also how to measure the amount of oil required.
I just went with what my manual suggest.
up to 1988 10W 424cc (14.3 US fl oz, 14.9 imperial fl oz) some times 15W is recomended by riders.

Springs removed, tubes compressed, the oil should be 130mm from the top of the stanchion (inner) tube... this level can be varied to tune the last bit of travel, the air acts as a spring and it's "rate" is determined by the oil level.

Thanks mate, great info, , the one ill have is off a 2000 model
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it
