My name is Ken and I have had an 1985 FJ 1100 from the day she was taken out of its crate. It is outstanding to find this site. There seems to be a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm for the "older" bikes as well as new. She is ridden almost every week day as my commuter vehicle in the temperate months.
I will try to remember the mods I have done over the years; PS fork springs, PS rear spring on stock shock, grease zerk in swing arm cross piece, Supertrapp 4-1 SS exhaust system (with a little blob/piece welded on the frame to retain the centerstand), jetted carbs, Re-degreed cams at 106, Aircraft oil cooler (it was a kit), KN air filter,5 line SS front brake lines, Avon radial tyres, Mobil 1 M/Cycle oil.
Yeah, I love the old bike. She treats me well and I try to return the favor.
Is there a forum as good as this one for old FZ's on the ether that anyone would know about? I love that one almost as much as the FJ.
The third bike is for weekends, I always wanted something tempermental and Italian. Wonderful, but not a comfy workhorse like the Yamahas.
Cheers.

Howdy!  I'm a newbie to this site as well.  Looks to be a great source for keeping our classics in good shape.  Cheers!

Ken,

Hello and Welcome.

That is great that you have held on to your bike for so long.  I don't know about  any FZ groups, but there are some good FZR group.

If you like the older ones that just means you're not color blind. :bomb: Not that there's anything wrong with that
