Well, it's about time I found this forum!  I'm Dan and I'm on my second FJ1200 (this one is an 89') all original and a blast to ride.  I also ride an 07' R1 for short bursts of adrenaline on the one or two twisty roads we have here in Kansas.  Anyway, thought I'd say hello, and I'm sure I'll find plenty of usefull info here!

Hello, geesterzr1, and welcome!

Hello and Welcome.

I never road a bike that would redline past 10,000.  I'll bet that R1 is a riot.  I guess the good thing about a long flat road is you can see the po po easier.

Later, Phil      :bye2:

Phil-

My GSXR750 red lines @ 14,000.  It's not got the grunt of a liter bike, but life north of 9,000rpm is mind blowing.

Live Hardy!

Live hardy, or go home.

I'll bet....   :wacko3:  Maybe I'll own a bike that will rev that high before I die.  :good:

Thanks for the welcome fellas!  The R1 is fun, but if I'm riding for any distance or taking a trip it's always the FJ.  I had a bmw k1200rs for several years, and while I really loved it, the ergonomics and cost of maintenence just don't match up to the good ole' bullet-proof FJ.  Ride on gentleman..........

Welcome to the club. No secret hand shake but you need to know the club password "Kookaloo!". It happens at lower RPMs on the FJ than it does on the R1. If it pulls your eyes so far back in your skull you get tunnel vision then Kookaloo!!!!  We have some good twisties here in SoCal, enough that if I had 2 bikes my other would be an R1. So I envy your harem dude.  :drinks:

Ahh,,,, kookaloo.  Thanks for the info!  I gotta be careful with kookaloo on the R1, it can lead to heavy fines and possible jail time.  Thanks for the welcome fellas!
