Thanks, Brian, for the carbs. They leak a bit due to the little float needles i can live with that for now. new plugs and a new agm battery, 220cca, the throttle response is better than ever, but i have LOADS of backfiring on deceleration, popping from carbs and pipes, ill try to sync them tomorrow. For now im just happy that I dont have to walk to work next week. On a side note, the us postal service has misplaced the carbs I mailed to Randy, so if anyone here knows someone in that fine organization, let me know.

Those carbs sat for six months, run some fresh gas through them and they should clean up fine. Now go ride that thing.

Put some of that Chevron carb cleaner in your tank to help clean it while you get some miles in.

Mounted a $5 SunDing bike comp as a speedo, and of course, it topsat 92.7 mph. what an odd number, but oh well. Also, all 4 carbs leak a good ammount of fuel at idle, idk about when its moving, i think as long as the engine is under load it uses the gas coming in, but those little fuel pump valve needles cant keep up with the pressure at idle. stops leaking immediately when i turn it off. Had her out on the interstate to test the top speed of the bike computer. Ran like a scalded cat. I have to say, this is one hell of a machine, even if my left shoe permanently smells like gas now...

I had those on my 89 and they didn't leak, not sure why that is.

mine is a gravity feed system, they have different sized float valves/needles. It's an easy fix, when I get the parts.

The f/p N&S are a smaller diameter so they do not need to be changed for gravity feed. Several are running the F/P N&S on their pre-fuel pump bikes without any issue.

I will mail your the four o-rings for the N&S as they probably dried out and that is why they are leaking.

I am running my 86' with a set of carbs from a fuel pump FJ. No leaks. Only a fuel delivery problem when the tank gets low and the RPMs are high.

Randy, I should have some o rings left over from the screw/oring set I bought, let me check. If that fixes it i will be totally happy. I spoke with your post office, they havent seen the package either.

That's right, you got new N&S with your kits so you will have the four N&S o-ring I sent in the S/S kit.

Hopefully your carbs will surface someplace...Did you ever find the receipt and/or tracking number?

Leak fixed. The n/s o-rings seemed in good shape, plenty of stretch, replaced em anyways, also put new bowl gaskets in (probably unrelated, but couldnt hurt) Safety-wired the petcock again, and found that the petcock itself seems to be weeping. That wasnt the source of the earlier problem, but now I have something else to fix. yay. Anyways, no leaks, left it on "prime" for 5 minutes and no leaks, let it idle for a while, no leaks. Runs great. Thank you all, much love, time to ride.

and no, im pretty sure i threw the receipt away with some pocket debris by mistake.
