The 89 has had issues ever since my cousin owned it with the starter motor, , ok when cold but once warm and trying to re,start sounds like a flat battery , he had cleaned the com and brushes to no avail ,, so today I took it out and about to POP the top , didn't really need too as going by the numbers its a two brush unit as fitted to 1100,s ,, opened it any way , and sure enough That's what it is,, didn't bother cleaning it, just grabbed a cleaned and ready to use 4 brush unit off the shelf, fired to really well cold , better than it had been , so after a good run when I can ill see if the problem is solved , all connections are clean and rear earth on engine is good   took longer to type this on my phone than do The deed
