Need help: Buy engine or Sell Bike, unfortunately!

Hi folks,
   My baby is mortally wounded. The standard 2nd gear is slipped/cracked, so the trans needs work. Now one of the cylinders is making a metallic gnawing sound. Not to mention that some prior owner took off the electrical fuel pump, and turned her into gravity feed. She still runs like a scalded dog, but it's obvious that won't be true too much longer!
   I'd like to buy a new condition engine/transmission combo. If anyone has that for sale, please contact me. I'll put my phone number at the end of this. I'll also take this down if I am able to find the aforementioned combo. I would also be interested in someone who could do the rebuild for me, or even handle the complete job, start to finish.
   Failing that, I'm willing to sell my baby. She is in great shape. No cracks in the upper or lower fairing, no dents in the gas tank, and her paint still shines. She has the aftermarket Corbin "comfort" seat, and it's in "acceptable" shape, no cracks or tears. The rear "tail" has been cracked, re-painted, and does NOT look new. Shocks are in good shape, tires are 4 months old, and chain is in like-new condition. Basically, other than the engine/transmission, she's a keeper!
   If you have the combo I need, or if you want to buy her for your own parts needs, either way, call me any time. I'd love to fix her up, but I'd be just as pleased helping someone else's dreams come true!
   My phone is from Atlanta, but the bike is in St. Pete. I can, and will, get it back to Atlanta if need be.

Or you could start a 4th new thread with the same text in yet another color... there are still a few categories left.

'86 didn't have a fuel pump, it was gravity feed from the factory.

Lots of people "ride around" the 2nd gear issue.  If you want to fix it, Randy at RPM offers everything you will need; undercut trans gears, new shift forks, gaskets, etc.

Thanks, David, but with the shape she's in, I need to replace both engine and trans. What I'd LOVE is someone here who could do the job for me. I can tow the bike just about anywhere, and for someone who loves FJ's a much a I do, I would!
