O'boy do we ever!
There is actually no summers here. Only winter, one white and one green winter

This engine rebuild was originally schdueled this autumn (march/April), but got delayed from my mechanic. Something about a some cheap racing engine that had priority.  :unknown:

I hope so too Jeff. The work will hopfully last a long time  :good2:

I'm guessing it would be at least another 2 weeks before I can ride it. Hopefully we have a overview of what parts we need to order, then it's only to wait their arrival en mounting her back together.

Cheers

Have been busy today painting some parts. As you will see of the photos I am not to keen on a glossy engine.
The only glossy I would like is the exhaust, or mufflers.

I was stupid enough not to take good before pictures but those parts were down right dirty and filed with all sorts of junk and debris. I'll tell you, the powerwash worked hard to get all the dirt of. :good2:

All parts have 3 layers of paint, except for the exhaust (muffler and collector), here I used the same paint as a primer and will add some more glossy stuff on it. The muffler ought too shine... at least some
I probably should have used another primer for the muffler, but will have to do. It will be changed after the season for one of Randy's systems :dance2:

Parts are ready to get clean.

This picture doesn't show any of the pre-painted areas on this parts, but I throw it in here just to satisfy Monkey and his appetite for FJ porn. :good2:

Here's 2 before picture of muffler and collectorbox. All the debris was a pain in the ars too to get of. Took a lot of sanding to get some areas smooth and good for paint.

This part is the only one I got around to curing the paint in the furnace. Damn that smells!! But turned out nice.

The picture got a bit dark, but you can see the paint is good. All that is left is to cure it in the furnace, and polish it up.

Not so much to say about it...

This is the muffler primed and ready for a more glossy paint. The muffler originally was black with a stainless steel plate strapped around it. I sanded it down some to get the paint so sit more firmer.
It's too big to cure in the furnace, so I would give the bike a good spin when ready to get the paint cured. Any suggestions on the matter of obtain a nice glossy finish is appreciated.  :drinks:

This is tomorrows project:

It kinda sounds like i have a big ass furnace, might be bad choice of words from my part. Its a regular oven you have in you kitchen. Heats up to 250 or 300 c.
The paint i used is cured when baked in the oven for 1 hour at 200 degrees.  :good2:
