Hey all,

I was wondering if there is a set itinerary.  I don't think I can make all 4 days of the rally, so I am trying to decide if certain days would be better than others to get in some ride time, as well as different destination and trips/courses that may be planned.

Thanks.

There's usually someone around as early as Tuesday, and as late as Monday...       :unknown:

I'm planning Wed-Sun this time.

phil, i would say come any day, because we always find good roads.  it's not like wed and fri are good road days and thurs and sat are picture taking days.  we ride every day, and always seek out the best roads we know of.  if anything, i would gauge it by the weather, if you have the luxury.  most of us don't.  i know that to be a crowd pleaser, often times a group goes to deals gap aka the dragon, since saturday is most likely when newbies are in attendance of a rally and want to go visit the gap.  regrettably, it's about the worst day to go, if you're wanting to ride at a spirited pace---a crapload of m/clists doing the same thing, and likely added police patrol.

really, it's pretty simple, given the fact we ride great roads every day.  just come for as many days as you can.  we don't plan the rides until about 10p the night before.  ( :

That's great, but I want to be sure you not the other, other guys, and end up sitting around drinking and holding my Dic% in my hand all day.  I want to ride!

I have an anniversary this month, need to fix the clutch on the bike, and still need to pay for my summer vacation. And just making the trip to the rally is going to cost me, but you know what, I want to ride!  So, I am really trying to work out something so I can get up there for at least 2 days.

Thanks for filling me in, and making me want to make it to the rally even more.

You could ride around all day WITH your dic% in your hand.  That's how Dean likes to do it.

Now that I can handle, as long as nobody ask me to hold their Dic% or ask to hold mine, all will be good.

Sounds great.  I have already riden the blue ridge from West Jefferson (Boone) to Asheville, and over to the Dragon Tail.  We also did some skyways as well, but it was with a couple of Harleys'.  So, I spend most of my time out front then waiting for them to catch up.  I would really like too ride with bikes and riders who could stay up, or out pace me on a road trip.  I ride alone here in Florida, so it would be nice to tag along with someone for a change.

Thanks for the info.

Hit the North Georgia mountains on Thursday or Friday and enjoy having the best roads in the area all to yourself.  The only bad part is TWO in Suches, Ga is only open on weekends.

The Dragon is a circus and should be avoided since you've already done that.

the cherohala skyway is IMO the very best motorcycle road i have ever ridden on..... and the tellico KOA sits right at the western end of it....... i am perfectly happy to ride back and forth across it the entire time i'm down there  :yahoo:   of course the entire area is surrounded by super riding and i can guarrantee that you wont be waiting up for anyone on any of them..... just dont ride over your head trying to keep up  :hi:

Nuthin quite like waking up early on Sunday morning, makin a Cherry Cola out and back, eating a late breakfast while the churchies find their way home and makin another out and back before heading home. (I trailer down, and I am OK with that)

Probably, dunno, I'd have to see some numbers.

:flag_of_truce:  Ok, no I really don't want to go down this path.  I was just looking for a simple "F-U you Danny".

It's all fun until someone pisses on your trailer.    :mocking:
