Hello all, Ive just arrived home after a 3000 mile vacation trip from NM to CA and back.......aaaand I am one sore caballero!! just some highlights from the trip: very beautiful country (and roads) from Lake Tahoe to Bishop CA. upon my arrival in bishop I set up camp and proceeded to clean and lube my chain.. Ill be damned if the clip on the master link shot off and became lost :dash2: Luckily, the local motorcycle shop had a box of them and gave me one!!! Saddled up the next morning and rode through death valley and across hoover damn over to a nice warm bed in flagstaff AZ. Next day I scooted to alb. to visit some friends for a few days. So im thinking to myself before i start the last little leg home (3 hour highway ride home).... " what a good vacation, with as little trouble as possible to remain happy with my journey...." then my freakin bike stalled!!!!!! :scratch_one-s_head: messed with it for a few minutes and realised the fuel pump took a shit on me. I talked very nicley to it as I smacked it a few times and vwala she started pumping again...... made it within 30 miles from my front door and the pump died completely.... All in All couldnt have been a better trip!!!! thouroghly pleased!!!! oh ya I got several compliments on the ol' FJ along the way! And I popped my first wheelie in death valley an accident!!!lol RIDE ON

Sounds like an awesome trip!
Tahoe to Bishop has some awesome roads and scenery.....Erich V. and I went that way coming back from the WCR a couple years ago.
I haven't seen death valley yet, but I want to......
Glad you made it home safe.

That is great glad you had a good trip. Murphy's law on the master link. I think I will put a master link and a extra fuel filter (small and not restrictive) in case fuel pump quits in the tool bag. Post some pictures if you can.  :good2:

Sounds like quite an adventure Curtis.  Did you have to trailer the bike the last 30 miles?

Fuel pump not so bad. That is an easy fix and not to expensive.
