i've been building a turbo fj1200 chop (in the writeups)
i've got to the stage of trying to get it to fire up,
i wired up the bike to the below plans and im pretty sure i screwed my ignitor

i had everything connected as per above exept the live to ignitor and live to coils which i connected last, it shorted out and if you do it again it does nothing. something is screwed. :dash2:

i have 3 wires from my timing pickup, can someone tell me what they all are?
its a 3xw motor and a 3cv ignitor.
do i need any resistors or something, am i missing something stupid?
i have pickup from the timing cover, 2 coils, one ignitor. (no boost advance)

someone please help me as the tension of not being able to start my bike is killing me!!!
You can't turn a pig into a racehorse... So lets see how fast we can make this pig go!!

Okay, if your CDI does not have the vacuum tube protruding from the box then you cannot use the dual (three wire) pick-up coil, you must use the single (two wire) pick-up coil.

Keep in mind you must also use the correct rotor for each style pick-up coil.

The wiring diagram I posted was for the 89+ version of the ignition system.

i dont know if this is related but on the rotor arm it says 1TN
i should have really taken a picture while i had it apart.
im looking for another ignitor now with this boost pipe on it...
then we'll try again  :dash2:
