Ordered a wheel spacer and collar, very good value compared to uk prices even with delivery added on.  Well this was over two weeks ago in which time several items from china have been ordered and delivered.  In this time I have had at least 4 confirmation emails telling me what I have ordered and what I have paid, which I know because I was there when I ordered it and when I paid for it!! :dash2:

So as the postman is now well hacked of with me asking him everyday 'is it here yet? Is it here yet?' I pinged them an email to ask what was the situation.  I then received two emails from two different people telling me
It is on back order until the 11th of sept, the other telling me It will go out today!!! :dash1:

So I emailed again asking for confirmation and again was told it is on back order till the 11th.  Why do I have a funny feeling the 11th will come and Go and I will be without the bits I need?

Anyone else got any experience of Using them?

If they are Yamaha part numbers, shoot them to me and I will see if they are on Yamaha back order or boats backorder.

+1 What Mark Said.
Randy (RPM) should be your first stop shopping for most anything FJ related.
If he has it, you'll get it before you know it!
He's just THAT good!!

Okay, there are (4) of the collars in the US Yamaha warehouse system. There are no spacers available in the US at this time and they are back ordered until mid September.

I have used boats.com once.
All I can say is be wary.I would ring and confirm parts are actually available before ordering.I ordered and payed for a bunch of parts online for my 86,3 of which were parts I really needed ( the rest were for aesthetics only),2 front ventilated disks and a seal guard  ( rubber part for protecting the swingarm from the chain rubbing. All of the parts ordered the website indicated were available).
After about 3 weeks they sent an email saying the the seal guard was no longer available and the rhs disk was on back order.I sent them an email saying if the rhs disk was not available to please cancel the order.I received an email back saying the disk would be available but still on back order.
A few more weeks went by and I receive another email stating "order ready for shipment" and noticed that the rhs disk was listed as not available  :dash2:.I quickly replied saying please cancel the order. The reply was "sorry, order already shipped".
I was reimbursed for the seal guard but not for the disk.
It was like buying a pair of expensive shoe's, and only getting one   :ireful:
After a few more emails trying to sort out the reimbursement for the disk I gave up without satisfaction. It wasn't worth my time, :dash1:

Cheers  :drinks:

Stay rubber side down.

Thanks for the experience flips. I wonder if this will be what happens to me.  I too had the in stock and ready to be shipped emails.  I get the feeling they dont have a scooby do (clue)!

Thank you so much for checking that out for me Randy!  Not sure if I should sit on it and give Boats the benefit of the doubt or if I should cancel the order and spend my cash with someone I feel I can trust?!?  Any thoughts folks?

Randy Could you get them (when in stock) if I was to ask/order through you?

Dont be so modist I am sure you have more than just one great purpose in the world, even If 'walking parts catalogue does take some beating!

Right leave it with me, I will get on to boats and cancel the order, when sorted I will PM you with regards to order details, payment, shipping etc, etc.

Right folks so the saga continues.  Late last night I emailed the following

Hello,

Thank you for this updated information.

Given that by the time this item reaches the uk I am looking at three weeks time or more, is it possible to cancel this order and arrange a refund as I need to source these parts for the repairs to my customers bike sooner rather than later.

It is most unfortunate that your website allows orders to be taken and payment made in good faith for parts you do not have in stock and will not have for a month!  Had your website made this clear I would not have ordered in the first instance.

Please could you get back to me at your earliest convenience.

With thanks

Mike Higgins

In the early hours of this morning I then receive this:

PO Number    Customer No.    Shipping Method    Web Order
 47871438    USPSFCIM   40763421
Item Number/Description    Est. Ship Date    Tracking    Order     Available    On Order    Unit Price    Ext Price
10-90387-15550-00 : COLLAR    SHIPPED    LN322212022US    1    1    0    6.44    6.44
10-90560-15255-00 : SPACER    SHIPPED    LN322212022US    1    1    0    8.27    8.27
        SubTotal       14.71
    Miscellaneous   0.00
    Freight   8.95
    Sales Tax   0.00
    Trade Discount   0.00

So now they have shipped items that aren't in stock till mid sept!?

Therefore I replied:

Good morning

Further to the email I sent yesterday, a few hours later I received an email informing me that my order has been despatched! It even has a tracking number.  Which incidentally doesn't give me any information when put into the USPS website, but that's a separate issue.

I am soooo confused!

The items are on back order but have been shipped?

I wanted to cancel the order to minimise time loss to my customer, but as they have been shipped I can't do this?

I no longer have any faith in the status of this order

Please help

Mike Higgins

I don't know what to make of it all now!!

Gentlemen,

When I decided to replace the bearings in the swing arm & the linkage, the Yamaha parts dealer had nothing but trouble even getting the listing of all the bearings & races together to place an order with Yamaha. In addition, it means an extended wait time before the bearings even arrive at the dealer's.

So the other and ONLY obvious choice was (and is) ordering from RPM who is a STOCKING parts distributor for FJ 1200 parts. And he knows the the number of bearings the first time around! Thus no waiting and prompt delivery.

To date, anything I have ever ordered from RPM has been shipped promptly and the CORRECT parts have arrived safe and sound - and Randy's pricing is more than competitive as well.

Thanks again to Randy & R.P.M.

Mike Ramos.

My experience ordering from Boats from Tenerife (Spain) was not too bad. But the BEST service and the most economical delivery far away is for Randy (RPM)
In the future all my orders will be from RPM. And he answer you technical questions at no extra charge ;-)

Brief update, Well sent two emails to boats asking to cancel the order no response to either! Tracking number for usps says something (but have no idea what-given that one of the bits isn't meant to exist till mid sept!!!) is on its way and is currently sat in Florida.

If someone lives near boats and has a minute spare when passing, could they pop in and in no uncertain terms highlight how poor their customer service is and how bloody rude it is to ignore a customer!!

Thanks

If you ordered with a credit card I would contact the card company, explain the situation and dispute the charge.  Call Randy at RPM and get it coming.  If the parts do come in just send them back.
