Finally, some answers!

Hello all. I've been an FJ owner/rider since 1988. (I purchased my '86 FJ1200 in '88, with only 7 miles on it!) Over the years it's sustained the normal wear and tear plus age related issues. According to the boys on Pawn Stars, any bike over 25 years old is considered an antique!
So, now that I've decided to give it a considerable amount of TLC, (and probably an equal amount of $!) I should be coming here to tap into your collective brains trying to find the answers to my FJ questions.

Thanks in advance.

Wow!!! Another Red and White in the club. Welcome to the Kookaloo zone, I have already put more $$$ back into my 86 than I paid for it and or what I could expect to sell it for. Since I cannot buy a new one my FJ is priceless. Where are you in the word? Get yourself to an FJ rally and find many others that love the FJ in all the years, even the pink stripe ones.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I'm currently living in southern Utah, but originally from Colorado, where I purchased my beloved FJ. (I miss the mountain riding!)
The low miles upon purchase are due to the bike having lived in it's shipping crate in the dealers warehouse for 2 years. They uncrated (decrated?) it 2 weeks prior to me taking possession, hence the low miles.
And sorry to disappoint you, FJmonkey, but it no longer has the original red and white w/ black trim. I gave it a makeover right before moving to Utah. I did as much ABS repair as I could, along with some serious sanding and "plastic surgery", and finally a new coat of pure white paint with black carbon fiber graphics and accents.  I'll have to admit it does look sharp!
My fiance and I are looking forward to our first rally.
Hope to see y'all there.

Thanks.
I lived in St. George for 6+ years, and recently moved to Kanab to be with my future wife. It's nice to be able to ride year-round, but this heat is BRUTAL! In Colorado a new battery would last 4 years or so. Here you're lucky to get one year out of it.
When I get the beast back on the road I'm planning a run to Park City, which I've never been to. We'll have to meet up for a pint or two.

Red and white make pink, monkey man!
We're not so different, you and I! LOL!

Welcome mich1jon.
A rally is a step in the right direction.
I've only been a member here for a little over 3 years and have 2 rallys under my belt, and plan on at least one a year, or more, from here on out!

Some of these guys can really make these FJs look sweet going through the twisties and high speed sweepers!
