OK, I'm wrong 89 and later. Your CDI box is the same as mine, 84-87 so don't threat that yet. But you may have to jet a bit different on topend for that big.   And make sure your Dyna coils are early model ones, there is a difference in ohms between them.

Kev, you should be fine with your oem ignitor box.

You do know that proper fuel line routing is important with the gravity fed bikes, right?
If not routed correctly, the line will pinch when the bike heats up.

The single fuel line (from the petcock) runs *under* the 2 branch lines (which goes to the carbs)

ok....I am looking at the coils....and they are high output dyna coils...and the spark plug wires were replaced......now earlier you suggested I should go back to stock coils.....but your last post implies keeping the dyna coils........sorry bob......which door am I picking door #1.....the dyna coils....or door #2....buying a set of brand new 86 stock ignition coils....and putting them in....just want to be sure......Pat also weighed in....hearing more and more about the fuel hose routing......also should I have the carbs rejetted at the top???

Seeing that you have no time. First try to get what you have working, check all wires and connections.
Unless you know it's not going to work and/or you can get the factory ones in time. Use factory if poss.
Yes check hose routing, and if stock style hose, get FI rubber hose if not, that cured my prob there. Kinked when got hot, and improper routing.
Whats in it for jets now? Stk? whos kit?

That my friend is a loaded question just like who's oil to use. I use HSR or make my own up and use his needles. Most will work try to get ones that only use factory mikuni jets.
