BAD Pat!!! A good chain is good VALUE!!! A bad chain costs $$$. Bad chains can break and they can break other more costly things that require more $$$ than many chains put together and prevent you from riding your bike home. Good chains, when properly cared for (like all mechanical equipment) last longer even when you are hard on them. When the equipment is really good, the higher cost is usually the better Value... IMHO...

I can't get over the prices the UK outlets charge for things like chains, sprockets, discs, pads, mirrors, levers and the like...

Even worse out of Europe, no wonder their economies are sliding into a big hole, just not competitive on price in an ever increasingly global marketplace.

Although for us guys in Oz some items like genuine Yamaha oil filters work out more economical out of Europe and UK because of lower shipping costs than out of the US.

Chains and sprockets though - out of the US is much cheaper, last time I paid less than $200 usd/each for 110 link DID ZVM-X Super Heavy Duty X-Ring Gold.

If you've got some mates that ride, do a group buy (to lessen the shipping cost for each item) off e-bay is the about the best deal you'll find.

Well, I know where I'll be buying any discs from. $199!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There again, I may have stumbled ona bargain at that price. The bike year seems odd though? Crosses 3CV & the later model, were the discs the same on the non ABS later model?

It depends on the sprocket sizes. Bigger sprockets than standard will need a longer chain.

110 or 112 links is about the right size for the FJ.  OK, that ebay link is for standard gearing on an XJR.  Phone the guy, he's in your neck of the woods, he was very helpful with me when i spoke to him.
