Repairing broken plastic fairings... great stuff

Plastifix is good stuff and I've had good results with it. 

But it does have some limitations - most of all it is more brittle than the original plastic - using the thin plastic mesh does help that a bit.  Also does not work well to repair or replace plastic "pegs" on the back side of the side covers.

i've found that pipe solvent cement (the kind a house plumber would stick ordinary drains together with) sticks the plastic well.. like an airfix model kit the glue melts and fuses the plastic. if plastic is missing I use some other similar plastic lying around, lincluding bits of drain pipe that the solvent cement is supposed to stick :)
