I'm wondering if anyone has replaced the upper triple tree to use other types of bars.
would like some other options as far as bars.
Thanks Kyle

I think finding the right spacing on the upper yoke is the problem.
I use these 'bar risers made by a company called Raask. Come in various sizes, FJ 's are 41mm.

Here's what it looks like.  Ok, this is an FJ 3CV front end on an XS1100 but you get the gist.
The Raask risers allow you to clamp on any set of 7/8 'bars, i think, these are using a set of Renthal motocross 'bars. They slide over the protruding top part of the FJ forks where the FJ clip on type 'bars would normally go. I can't vouch for the clearance of the Renthals against the fairing as i've never tried them on an FJ. The depth of the risers is 33mm which is the same as the clamp on the FJ clip ons.

^^ Very cool solution FJ111 (don't know your name lad)
Here in the states there is a company called Spiegler Performence which also makes a handlebar conversion kit for our FJs:

As you can see... it's a bit more expensive (as are all Spiegler products) than the UK Raask product.

Another idea, instead of converting over to handlebars (which often requires longer cables and brake/clutch lines) is to put a spacer under your existing bars:

Hope this helps...Cheers!

My 90 has the latter upgrade for the handlebars.... the spacers.  As far as I can tell there was no extension for cables etc that was needed.  I was pleased enough with the upgrade that I didn't remove them after buying the bike.

Thanks these are some good options.I got this bike after someone dropped it and broke the
fairing and think I'm going to go with the street fighter look instead of paying $1200. for a new fairing
Thanks again Kyle
