Painted my master cylinders

Made headway on rebuilding my front end. Taped off and painted my master cylinders.  Plan on getting them rebuilt and back on the bike this weekend. I won't be bleeding them however, I forgot to order new cover gaskets.  :dash2:

Sounds like she is really coming together.  If you don't mind me asking, what kind of paint are you using for the M/C. I am three knuckles deep in the clutch M/C rebuild, and the paint is bubbly and falling off. What kind of prepping is done? can you emery the corrosion or is just scraping it off with a pick fine?  I am also going to look for a post concerning DOT 5 fluid.   Good luck with bringing the sexy back to the bike.

Painting M/C's.  I would wire brush the corrosion, not too vigorously, use paint stripper, wash in warm soapy water and when dry use any rattle can enamel, I like the satin finish.  Do not use engine paint unless you're prepared to cure it in the oven.  Mine still look like new after 50k and have had fluid on them but if wiped off immediately does not harm the finish.  Don't overthink the corrosion, certainly get rid of the flakes but don't worry too much about the pitting, when they are painted and on the bike they don't stand out or draw your eye to them.

I'm really interested in that light & have a couple of questions...
Website stated modifications are neccessary, what did you have to do to fit it?
How bright is it in sunlight?

Do you think the engine enamel would hold up better? I don't think I want to bake it either to get it evenly coated I was going to finish the build, tape off the port and sight glass and spray her down. Couldn't I brush it with a brass brush and leave the good paint? If it doesn't draw to much attention...

I only mentioned the engine enamel because I've seen people use it for it's chemical resistant qualities not realising that it requires heat to cure.  Personally I wouldn't bother.
I don't know what condition they're in but if there's good paint - leave it there.  Just feather the edges a bit with some fine paper.  Main thing is to make sure it's clean, no oily residue.
