Intermitant STA's/ 404's

Got the following error a couple of time this AM while just surfing about.  Refresh once or twice, cleared it but thought I'd let you know. 

Error:
Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

It happens a lot on my not-so-smart phone. I hit the back button, select the link for the forum again,and it goes right to the site. Each time.

Happens on my desktop at the home front sometimes too. Weird.

I'm starting to get this error now as well. In just over a year with this site I haven't gotten this error. I wondering if more work may be needed on the server. We just had a problem a couple of days ago.

Again this am at 8:05 EDT:

Refreshed several times did not clear, then I got a different error:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@fjowners.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Eventually, after a few minutes it cleared up.

This was roughly the same time of day I got these errors (actually just the first one) yesterday. 

Something is not right.

Yes, I've been getting these errors too starting a couple of days ago and getting much more frequent.
Most times I can just go back one page and try again but sometimes it takes several tries.
This evening (now) I've had about 6 of these errors in the last 20 min or so.

Yup, just got tagged with a 503 myself.

I'm sure Marsh will have a lovely set of logfiles to peruse....

Guys, keep me informed here if this is still happening to you.  I just fixed some errors and optimized all database tables.  I need to figure out if it is somehow related to us - or if it is a result of the "emergency server repair" that the hosting company recently conducted on our server.  Of course, it is probably the latter...

I've been on for about an hour now and have not had any problems at all. :-)
This is about 11 hrs later than my previous post.

Hope that you or your hosting company has got it fixed :-)
(I know how frustrating that can be not knowing which was the cause)

Just happened to me again, the site was offline for maybe 5 minutes... scary!

Just happened again 10:30 EDT for about 2 mins, then back up.

then, after two more refreshes, it came back up at 10:32.  Navigating to this post, I got the Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. error one more time at approximately 10:33 EDT.

At 10:40 EDT, I tried to post the above, and got the STA error again!!

I did notice that the site had been slow for the 15-20 mins I was on before the errors occurred.  Renderings were taking several seconds, as apposed to the sub-second rendering I am used to.  If that help at all.
