I have loved the looks of the FJ since they came out when I was in high school, and always wanted one.  Well, after test riding a friends about 25 years ago, I finally got one today LOL.  I went a long time with no bike, but last year bought a 1996 Vulcan cruiser in the spring, put 9k miles on it, and in the fall bought a new Kawasaki Vulcan Vaquero as I really like taking long rides and heading out of state.  However, I still kinda longed for something "smaller & sportier" for around town, and just having the option to ride different bikes.

I will definitely be keeping the Vaquero, but instead of selling the old Vulcan I ended up trading for a 1989 FJ1200!  I think overall it is VERY clean and great shape, especially considering the year, but it could use a little TLC and I will be asking some questions about FJ's.

Welcome mate, you are in good hands...... We love FJ's and have some tolerance for others with like minded blokes.... Any chance you have yours painted Red and White??? I am trying to take over the FJ world but I need a Majority of Red and Whites to support my world domination effect. Red and Silver will work as well. Either way, happy to have another FJOwner aboard.  Tell us about your self, we like to know who we are are dealing with....

I will try to keep long story short.  Fell in love with the red and white FJ's when first came out, really wanted one bad for about 5 years and never managed to get one.  Basically went bikeless for about 25 years until spring 2011, bought a 96 Kawaski Vulcan 1500 classic.  Put 9000 miles on it that summer.

at end of season I decided i loved riding again so much and liked hitting the open road, I bought a 2011 Kawasaki Vaquero 1700 in October 2011, and have put 3000 miles on it to date...we have had a mild fall and an early spring, i rode at least a little every month.  So with spring here time to sell the 96 Vulcan, but before posting to sell starting browsing craigslist for something that would peak my interest for a possible trade, a different style bike to compliment the cruiser.  Holy cow, look at that ad for an FJ!!!!  and he wants to trade for a cruiser!!!  Three days later the deal was down, and I have two bikes...wife not happy LOL

Jeez, guess I should have read what I first posted LOL... can you say repeat!

Ok, here is some more about me.  I also have a 2005 Mustang GT convertible.  Bought it with 4k miles, my son and I installed a supercharger at 15k miles, and currently has about 35k on it.  Been driving it a lot less since buying the bikes :)

Hey Bob,

welcome to the group  :hi:

It is a common thing to long for a FJ for many years before getting one, or Had one back in the day and finally  got one, or my friend had one and I rode it and always wanted one etc.

Welcome, Bob!

Better to know exactly what she's unhappy about than to be guessing...     :pardon:
