I have a new clutch rod seal (the one that goes in the block) from Randy's clutch slave rebuild kit.
The old one doesn't appear to be leaking but is 28 yrs old. Can the new seal be tapped into place with a socket on the outer rim or is it best to wait until I split the cases sometime in the future?
Thanks,

Yes it can mate. But if the old one is fine leave it.  You know the old saying " if it ain't fooked don't fix it"  :good:

Yep, pull the rod, it will pop right out with a screwdriver. Use something the same O.D. and it will push right in by hand, you should need to hammer it in. It might require a light tap, but that is all.

I am going for the replace it while you have it down, that rubber seal is 28 years old...
