Eric/Frank/Calvin.  This is the dude I met on the supermoto yesterday in Cumberland I told you about.  He was videoing himself chasing Mickey when he bit it and posted it on advrider last night.  see 2:58 into the video.  Looks like he just freaked out and fixated onto the ditch went straight in.  Can you tell where it was?  Not "VFR corner".  Looks like it may have been just before the Calvins place.

Lucky he was ok..

looks like he decided to brake in the turn instead of before the turn.  ( :  i can see this happening to me on any given ride.  just that split second of indecision, and it's over before you know it.

thats way down the hill from Calvin's  right when the road first gets tight n twisty..... with all the sweepers right before you get there i can see someone getting caught out on their corner entry speed and freakin a bit..this guy just plain ol target fixated....
......... rule number one is to look where you really want the bike to go.... stare at that ditch long enough and i'll bank money you're gonna hit it.

......looked like a nice soft landing though.

Good to see you again Danny,

Looks like a combination of fixation and newbie to me. Watch his front fender. He is steering into every corner, not countersteering. On any supermoto I have ridden you have very little control over the front end unless you countersteering, and evn a little brake will stand you right up.

But what do I know...:bye2:

He chickened out and ran it off the road, by the looks of it.

Judging by how often he was hitting the centerline and weaving, I'd imagine that his control of the machine isn't great in the first place though... Just was riding over his head.

Never met the SM guy before but I suspect that's the case.  Young guy trying to keep up with the old guy on the red vstrom.  (whom I do know and that he rides that road nearly every weekend and goes pretty damn fast)

Always good to see you too Frank!   We'll have to do it again in the fall and actually bring the dirt bikes :)

Bill, sir, I am humbled.  Awesome pic!  I can't wait to ride with you again!  (not that I could keep up...but I would have fun trying!...unless of course, you keep on that slow ass 600 again ;)

So like...I know you have been having fun with track days and stuff...but seriously...

mst3kguy

marsh, that's not bill, that's his stunt double.  that helmet is seriously slimming, it makes bill look like a svelte 240.  ( :

Same old 600 as before... I will try to keep up.

Here are a few more from the track(s).

I am doing some control riding at a track day at Putnam Park the weekend after the fall rally. How long is your trip?

Frankie, talk to me at the rally. the knee is closer to the ground than you think....

I was just noticing there seems to be some slack in that leather suit.  Did Bill join the Jenny Craig program?

Objects in the monitor may be larger than they seem...

I joined the cool kids in the "no surgar for me!" club a few months back. but the new leathers fit. Yea me!

now I just need to get one of my bikes back in one piece again.

Yeah man, good time.  I tried to describe the view from the apple tree to my wife, but you'd have to be Shakespeare to do that justice.  Don't think I've ever seen stars like that in my life.
