Motad collector unit

Hi all, I have an 86' FJ1200 which I'm currently working on.
Has anyone fitted a Motad (N-eta) stainless steel collector unit to their original FJ header pipes?
My headers are away being ceramic coated so I cant check yet but it appears the Motad collector has smaller header intake pipes than the factory Yamaha collector?
I know this because my new Motad collectors' front pipes (4) fit inside the 4 front collector pipes of the factory collector!
This leads me to believe they are the same diameter as the headers. (Therefore the headers will not slip inside the Motad collector pipes and form a join as per original).
Is there a link pipe required to join my FJ pipes to this new collector?
It says on the website (wemoto.com)that Motad collectors fit straight onto the original system.
Have I been sent the right collector?
(Nb. My Motad collector is not the one that looks the same as the original FJ one. It just has a link pipe in the middle not the big box shape. Also my headers are definitely original 1tx factory Yamaha FJ headers).
Any advice would be appreciated.

Tron,

The MOTAD collector should be interchangeable with the FJ downpipes. I've just found both in the garage and they fit together ('91 3XW). The diameter is 35mm. The MOTAD doesn't have gaskets like the original - could this be the difference?

Thanks for your trouble/reply mate.
You might be onto something re the gasket.
My downpipes come back from HPC in the next few days so I'll know for sure then.
I'll post the outcome here.
