Hot damn, got my '85 running today!

After the rite of passage of having to go into the carbs two times, I was rewarded with an easy synching and a smooth idle. Eyeballed the gas tank and seat sitting over in the corner, and said the heck with the 27F temp, and through it together. I didn't care if it was half-naked. First time ever on a running FJ, and it's great. No second gear issue either, as I got on it a few times to make sure.

Need to go through the front end and front brakes, and then it's good to go.

A far cry from its disassembly point a few months ago!

Kudos and Kookaloo to you!!!! I logged in over 400 miles yesterday (200 was slab). Really good weather and roads here in SoCal. Finish cleaning her up and the warm weather will be soon enough for you get some FJ miles in....
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

WoooHoooo, you get to go riding this summer. I didn't see but if this is your first FJ, be ready for one of the best motorcycle experience ever staged on 2 wheels.
Really, it's the only bike for me, and, as this forum reflects, for a lot of others as well.

Kookaloo, just up around the next bend.

Thanks guys. I wish I was living in warmer climes like you, so I could enjoy some extended riding, to see what an FJ is really like, but I'll have to wait for it here.

I figured out why the pics didn't post.

Here's one from my cold test ride today:

And here's how deep I was into the disassembly a few months ago:

A labor of love, for sure!
