I am about to attempt to remove the damaged upper fairing on my '92 FJ1200 and replace it with a new one. Can anyone offer any advice as to the sequence in which it should come apart, or critical information I should know so that I don't damage anything or go out of step?

Do a search, seems to me this question was answered, in OCD detail by David R., not too long ago.  Net net, if you are a bit carful and don't force anything, it should be pretty self explanitory.

Looking at the 'fische, it looks like the '92 is like the earlier models, and has the screw on each side of the headlight, inside the fairing.  When you remove those and pull the fairing, be careful that the headlight module doesn't fall down.  I usually run a ziptie through each side to hold it to the fairing support until I'm ready to reassemble.

Thank you guys, hopefully I won't tear anything up and it will go back together as it should.
