My brother and I were reminiscing about some of the bikes we used to own and we got to talking about my old A7 avenger. Was wondering if anyone else had owned one of these. I think the one that I had was a 1968 in blue. That thing had a lot of power especially for a 16 year old that just moved up from a suzuki 80. It fried a piston and after I rebuilt it I never could get it to run right so I traded it on 71 DT 250 yamaha, that 250 cost me a whole 749 dollars way back then. Ah the good old days. Big r

My first bike was a 1979 DT 125.  Cost me $1200 right out of the box.  Sold it for $1000 and bought an XS 750.  A thousand bucks doesn't go far buying a bike today....hardly pays the mechanic. :unknown:

I have four A7 Avengers!  I also rode one to high school as a 16 yr old and was plenty surprised by the toggle switch power band! I loved the bike and started collecting parts to restore it in 1998.  That led to owning the other three!!

This bike was my "test build"

Currently restoring the original A7 I had as a kid.... only took 25 yrs!

Way COOL! I wish I could find one for myself, I always wanted to restore one. They are pretty hard to find. I have been looking for a couple of years and have had no luck. My old one melted a piston and filled the right pipe with aluminum bb,s. I think she lost a crank seal or something. We rebuilt it and never could get it to run right after that so I traded it in for a new DT1. The one I had was a blue one like the one you are restoring. Big r
