Hello, my name is Geof and I'm new to the site. Got a question.

Geoffrey

Good morning FJ enthusiasts. I have a 1986 FJ100 with 8,000 original miles and it is in perfect condition. This bike has never even been rained on. My brother sold it to me in 1990 for $500 and I spent about $2,000 on modifications. I kept all the original parts.

I would never sell this bike, but I am curious what the experts would say about it's value. I would like to make sure I have it properly insured.

Any clues or info about the bike would be appreciated.

Cordially,

Geof from Indy.

Well, since you can't replace it with a new one if something happens, I think that makes it priceless.  Unfortunately, to an insurance company, it's worth what any 25 year old used bike is worth.  Probably about $500.

sounds like a pretty rare bike, since the 1100's were only made in 84 and 85.

despite all the money you have spent in mods the overall worth of the bike didn't increase.

if it is in mint condition I have seen them go for 2500ish

Post up a pic or two

Geoff, either FJ1100 or FJ1200 for that low mileage you have a rare gem. Welcome to the Kookaloo zone with yet one more Red and White in the club.

Hello, Geoff,
has studied once here in Germany the topical retail prices. You could sell a FJ 1100 with the kilometre achievement in Germany for 1600 US dollar.
But a tip of me, keeps them and still has a lot of fun with it. If you maintain them, she accompanies you still many years and sometime you can give them to your son. And also he will take with her still pleasure.

Many greetings

Ottmar   :hi:

I am that about which you your parents have always warned !!!  :-)
