Christmas is just around the corner...

I have just gotten off of the phone with the new vendor I just signed up with and he has advised me of a special price if I wanted to do a group buy.

This will be for the SENA SMH10, Version 2 bluetooth intercom helmet set. The are available in both the single or dual rider versions.

The biggest issue is that I have to complete the order by the Friday; 12/9/11 so time is very limited.

The dual system is for those who ride together like my wife and I do or if you ride two up. It can even work for guys like Monkey, S/D Mike, Moparman and Simi Ed who ride together as a means of communication.

The single unit works great for those who use your bike as a commuter as you can plug in you MP3 or link up for cell phone.

Here is the SENA link so you can see the specs; http://www.senabluetooth.com/products/smh10.php?tab_menu=overview

The dual set is going to available for $295.00 and the Single set is $175.00.

After this Friday the prices will be $359.00 and 259.00

If you want to purchase either set please send me an email directly; randy@rpmracingca.com

Damn thats a good price - that works out to $357 of my NZ funny money for the dual.. Same unit here is being sold by the SENA importers for $695 - eekk!! :ireful:

I'd love a comms unit however bills bills bills  :nea:

All my research says it's a good unit too..

Next year maybe  :good2:

Keep up the good work Randy, maybe one day I'll actually be able to afford one of your smoking hot deals!

How many distinct bikes can be communicating at once -bike to bike style?  If it's like the scal rider, it's only two -which is problematic for me.  I'd like to have 4-5 rider all on at once.

So, if us SoCal gents each get a single unit then up to four of us could ride and communicate, right? Does a dual unit count as one unit of the possible four? Or as two of the four? Might be easier if we could confer with one another about stopping without stopping. :wacko1:

Be careful, on one of these, it may have been this one, I read where you can only talk to one other rider at a time, and you need to switch channels explicitly to talk to another.  Seemed a bit of a PITA.  Plus it is a closed/ proprietary system.

When will one of these manufacturers figure out an easy FRS/ GMRS plug in?  Then EVERYONE can talk, to everyone else, even those that do not have their system...

Still waiting...

Randy. I have questions:
Do the ear pieces actually fit inside the helmet?  They look too large for that.
Are these available with earbuds, or at least a 1/8" jack so I can supply my own earbuds?  It looks like the    SMH-A0304 kit is set up for ear buds ...
How does the external unit attach to the helmet?  Double-stick tape?  Velcro?

Inquiring minds ... :wacko3:

Thanks!

Like Dan stated, at this time it is a one to one person intercom with up to four people linked which by changing the jog knob allows you to reach the others. There is a free software update that is scheduled for release in February as it is being presented at some large motorcycle show. You will be able to log onto the SENA website and perform the software upgrade and then the system will be full duplex conference for up to four riders. The full duplex means it is like talking on a cell phone with open communication as opposed to two-way radios where only one person can talk at a time.

The dual unit is two helmet kits for two riders. So, two of you guys can go together and buy one dual set and each take one of the units from the box, it is cheaper than each of you buying them individually.

Ed

1) He said most current helmets are design with "wells" or "pockets" under the lining in the helmet to accept the speakers. He did not have the dimension readily available and was going to contact the tech department for that information. Once I get it I will forward it.

2) If you want to use the earbuds instead of the speakers then you would have to purchase with the A0303 or A0304 kit separately.

3) The unit base attaches to the helmet via a clamp system. There is also a permanent mount that can be applied to the helmet as well.

Here is the link for all of the instructional videos including the mounting of the unit; http://www.senabluetooth.com/products/smh10.php?tab_menu=video

I was looking at something similar at the bike show in Sydney, the Senna looks like it has all the features, the full duplex is a must, nice bit of kit.

Last call...

I need to have your order and funds no later than 12:00pm PST Friday 12/9/11 as I have to order them from the east coast and they are three hours ahead of me here in California.

I will be here late tonight (Thurs) working and back Friday morning and I have to leave the shop by 12:00pm.

I want to thank those who have ordered and if you are on the fence, this is a one time price deal.
