Hi all again. I need a couple of header nuts, specifically Yamaha part #90179-08345-00 NUT,SPEC'L SHAPE  But, alas, they're discontinued.

Can I use standard hardware store nuts or is there a special kind of heat-resistant nut I should use instead?

Thanks for any help once again.

Best site ever!!

check with a bolt/nut supply house.....get some metal tabbed flange face nuts....they have a metal locking insert that isnt affected by the heat

Thanks, N/M.

I'm seeing flanged copper exhaust locknuts advertised also. Would these work as well?

yeah, i would just make sure the threads are clean before i install em,..also, since copper is soft,. make sure you dont over tighten them, and amke sure to use a little bit of anti-seize on the threads

Copper might be a bit soft, but brass nuts in (I think) 12mm x 1.25 would do the trick.
