Carb Cleaner

This is a long shot but anyway. I bought myself some carb cleaner. Its this here. It was recommended to me by a couple people(not this particular brand) but I just wanted to know what you guys thought of it?

It wasnt really expensive so Im not gonna worry if I wasted my money, just wanted to know if this is suitable for and will work for the FJ

Carb cleaner can be _NASTY_ stuff.

Yes, it will work for dissolving and washing away the varnish and grease on your carburetors, but it will also dissolve the [VERY expensive] rubber diaphragms inside. It will also quickly ruin a good paint job and melt many plastics.

Acetone does this, too.

Spray some on a bit of styrofoam if you don't believe me. It'll act like the blood of the xenomorph in the movie "Alien".

Like most tools, it has a definite purpose, but in the hands of the inexperienced, can wreak havoc.

If you're in the trying mood: Lampoil (parafin oil) is great for cleaning and doesn't cost a dime.
Is also a lot less harmfull on rubber and paint and such

Good for lighting up the home when you forget to pay the electric bill as well.....

I have always used the Yamaha carb cleaner.....for almost 20 years I guess. It is the best.

Definitely , thanks for the heads up though, if I use it I will make sure I have someone who knows how to use the stuff with me..

We used to dump a bunch of paint thinner in guys' styrofoam coffee cups as we walked past and then watch their face as they turned to get a drink and the cup melted as they reached for it.  Had to get your timing right though.
