did some searching, and what i found was kindof inconclusive.........

looking to buy a set of fairing mount mirrors for my 85,...but i want to actually see whats behind me, not just a fuzzy reflection of my elbows :unknown:

what other bikes will work for this transplant, without looking like a security mirror from a drugstore's back aisle!!

fire away guys!!

HOOAH FT. CAMPBELL!!!!

Unless you're VERY skinny, this is going to be difficult.  The '85 fairing isnt' very wide.  With fairing mount mirrors you'll be lucky to see wide enough to get to your elbows.
Let us know if you find something that works and looks good.

Note to all on mirrors - I installed a set of CRG Arrows on the bar ends. Larger glass area, high quality piece of kit, vibration free for almost the entire RPM range, you quickly adapt to bar end mirros so this is a non-issue, not wide at all so I still split lanes all day long without problems but then again I do this on a full dress tourer and a big ass cruiser so practice makes perfect, the mirrors looks great, widely adjustable. cleans up the look fo the fairing

Got any pics?
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side

As Arnie said, the fairing is very narrow, I myself am tiny(only 60kg -I have somehow lost weight after increasing my intake on food) and I can never see past my elbows no matter how I adjust the mirrors, although mine are handlebar mounted, which really makes the bike look UGLY, but will upgrade when the opportunity presents itself
Life behind bars - is actually quite thrilling

Grey runner

I used some mirrors of a Suzuki 1200 Bandit

They are bolted to the original FJ base plate

The one on the left is a darn sight longer than the original, and give a lot more rear veiw

The older I get, the faster I was
