I see a lot of stuff for modifications to the fj1200, are most of these mods also applicable to the 84/85 fj1100. Do just about all of them work or which wouldn't?  Thanks all

Yes.

The bulk of them will.  Fundamentally they're all the same, but there's some differences between the 1100, the early 1200, the middle 1200, and the late 1200's.
