Hello there.
I wonder if anyone can help me.
I have been living in the Canary Islands for nearly 6 years now. My bike ( FJ11 1985 36Y Red White) has been garaged in Liverpool UK for all of that time. My friend rode it for 2 years then left it for an XJR.
I have just ridden it from Liverpool , across France and Spain and then to here. Got my confidence back.
1. I have bought a spin on adapter from Randy. What choice of Car/Bike canisters can I have for it??. I could not find anything suitable in the UK.
2. I have bought some blue spot FZR1000 ( 2001) calipers. Would anyone out there have a pattern or drawing ( measured) of adapter plates I could fit and mount the calipers?? I checked the club in the UK.........no.
Best wishes and thanks for a very interesting site.

Alf, are you out there?

Regarding the blue spots, you could get some 3CV or later fork lowers. Second hand would be a lot cheaper than getting some adapters made.

Tony,

I love the Canary Islands! I go down every winter for a bit of sun (usually Corralejo in Fuerteventura)

Regarding calipers FZR400RR items are a bolt-on for early FJs. Might be easier than getting plates made up. See this site for info:

The journey to the islands must have been a bit of an epic trip.

there are plenty of filters to fit randys conversion in uk, before fitting mine i took it into halfords and tried all the filters out on it, lots fitted but the best one was off a fiat sinquecento .
i would reccomended taking kit into your nearest shop and trying a few out

Hello, again.
Yes, it was an epic trip but I did find out ( on the way) that some others do similar rides, for different reasons.  It was my journey and I have the pictures to prove it. I´ll send them, when I can get a suitable cable for this phone.
I would think that brackets made out of quarter inch mild steel, drilled and painted, would be cheaper than forks.
Phil Hacker had them and gave ém away 2 years ago. No templates available. He did it ´´by eye´´.  I do need them though.
Fiat Sinquecento. Unbelievable. Well, if that´s the case, I´ll check it out. Thank you.
Best wishes,
Tony
