An Excellent Day At Raduechel Performance Motorsports...

Needing a long overdue valve adjustment, I contacted Randy at RPM on Wednesday enquiring if he could do it on Friday (today).
No problem...

So I rode down from east of Redding and arrived at 8:00 as scheduled and Randy was ready and waiting.

While Randy was adjusting the valves (a normally time consuming job) it was a delight to check out the several different race cars that he has in his shop - all based on the FJ engines... save for one misguided Miata that is being built to race specifications (roll cage and all) and is slated for the street. Interestingly there are even several XJR engines that will bolt right in to a FJ frame...!

It was a pleasure to see first hand some of the many items available on the web site: the hard to find hand grips, bar end Vibranators, carb rebuild kits, the LED tail light assemblies and he even took the time to test fit the specific to FJ fork brace.

Not content with only the valve adjustment, Randy synchronized the carbs, replaced the valve cover gasket, the all important bolt grommets and thoroughly inspected the bike - even discovering two possible frame cracks normally hidden from view.

All this without having to be asked - a nice change from the usual routine found at some other shops.

All the while Randy answered any and all questions regarding FJ's, even explaining several "tricks of the trade" without hesitation.

Finishing on time and right before lunch, we had lunch at a nearby restaurant continuing our discussion on a myriad of topics. A nice ending to a great day.
