Liquid cooled FJ?

Not really, I was out for a ride on the weekend and got a closer look at a bike I had seen around town, originally I thought it was an 86 fj but is not so (it was hard to tell while driving the other way). I got the chance to ride along behind the 84 hybrid yep hybrid, some fellow has taken all the plastics and bodywork from an Red and White 84 FJ1100 and grafted them onto an FZ1. I did not have a camera with me and being that we never really stopped anywhere was hard to get any details. From a distance it did not look terrible just a little odd mainly because of the radiator under the main fairing and the exhaust note was quite different, and his seating position was also noticeably different. It looked to be an interesting project that he was enjoying on a Sunday afternoon. I do see him around town every now and then, if I get a chance to talk to him I'll get more details and if possible a picture or two.

Cheers.

Hank Scott has had a liquid cooled cylinder block for our FJ/XJR engines for a couple of years now: http://www.realracecars.com/
Good for Legends racing where the engine is turned sideways and the airflow sucks. On our FJ's? yea, where would you put the radiator?

See if you can convince him to keep going with it and swap with you for forks, brakes, wheels, master cylinders and swingarm.

Well I ran into the liquid cooled FJ again, turns out the rider has grafted the plastics, tank, seat basically all the bodywork from an 84 FJ onto a 2000 R1. He said it took a fair bit of work and probably the biggest challenge was getting the air box moved as the FJ's tank now sits where there was a cover over the R1 airbox. Doesn't look bad though, his riding position is definitely different he is sat more upright, kind of like on a Vstrom or the like. The fellow still has the better part of the 84 but really likes his hybrid ride. He plans one day to rebuild the 84.

Hey Pat, is Hank the actual manufacturer? I've seen these around and am wanting to talk to who actually makes them...
Nitrous is nice but I'd rather be blown.

Seems to me then, that's just not an FJ, it's a modded R1.
