i spoke with calvin this evening.  his computer has been out of commission for a bit, which is why i hadn't heard from him.  he will not be arriving until thursday.  a few or more of us will be arriving earlier than that.  i am willing to make arrangements with the same place that we've used before, to order us 3 bundles of firewood.  calvin was not home, he is going to call me tomorrow with the contact info.

if memory serves, it was $200 for 3 bundles.  that will last us from tuesday until monday.  heck, it could last longer than that, if someone would like to be responsible for being around on sunday, or monday, when they deliver, so you have firewood at night.  otherwise, i will request it be delivered on tuesday.

everyone will need to pitch in.  i'm up for suggestions on how you want to contribute.  i have a paypal account, or you can pay me when you see me, or whatever else you'd like to suggest.  i'd just hate that the first couple people pay me X dollars, and by the time some people offer to contribute, i already have enough, so i can't figure out how to come up with the same amount for everyone to give.  i guess if it's $200 like i'm thinking, i guess i could also use marsh's fjrally.com head count to see how many are attending, and divide by that.  i really hate all this...

again, i'm taking suggestions.

IIRC the firewood contribution pot/hat never had a problem breaking even (or at least I never heard of a problem)  I know that some gave more than their % share. I think if everyone puts in $10-$20 or what they can it'll be all good.

Me and Jeff will be there Sunday afternoon till the following Sunday (at least he gets to stay till Sunday), so we can be around either Monday or Tuesday. Whichever is convenient for them to deliver.

i googled and found the guy, eddie moretz lumber, 828-265-3308.  i advised him we'd like it either monday or tuesday.  he thinks he can get the equivalent of 3 bundles for us, 3 bundles is what we've gotten in the past.  he said they had a fire at the business a few months ago, he's going to get back with me, it may not be the slab wood that we've had, but if not, he can get us the equivalent amount.  waiting to hear back from him, and the price.  assuming it's all a go, i'm going to ask it be delivered on monday when nancy is there.  thanks!

I take it that he or koa knows where it's supposed to be dropped. I've seen pics of that truckload and trust me I don't want to move it if he puts it in the wrong place.  and if he can say an approximate time that he may be there. I do plan on venturing out by ourselves on Monday so that maybe I won't embarrass ya'll being the flatlander and all.

nancy, what time would you like it delivered?  we've usually had it delivered in the grassy area adjacent to the drive that separates our kabins and grassy area from the rest of the campground.
